The Road to B1: Why that final step is often the most important!
Lately, I’ve been working more and more with people who have already lived in the Netherlands for a longer period of time. They often assume their Dutch language proficiency is already at a B1 level, but after an initial assessment, it frequently turns out to be somewhere between A2 and B1.
Basic grammar is often still lacking (such as reflexive verbs (zich) or the use of conjunctions like omdat, als, and dat). However, we can address this immediately as we start on the path toward B1 and B2 levels. After an initial assessment, we are usually on the right track quickly.
I have been helping people pass their civic integration exams and improve their knowledge of the Dutch language for over six years now. And because every individual is unique, I still learn something new myself every day.
