The KNM book is important for preparing oneself for (part of) the A2 integration exam in The Netherlands (Of course you can also use it if you are preparing for a B1-level exam.).

A lot of my pupils tell me that they enjoy reading the KNM Book. It is easy to read and you learn a lot about The Netherlands in general and specific rules and customs in Holland. Interesting information for example simply about the geography of Holland but also a little more detailed information about the schoolsystem and the healthcare system.
Short pieces of text are alternated with short questions and assignments. It is very nice to work through this book chapter by chapter.
